Primus, Pearl
(29 nov. 1919, Puerto España, Trinidad–29 oct. 1994, New Rochelle, N.Y., EE.UU.).

Bailarina, coreógrafa y antropóloga estadounidense. Su familia se estableció en Nueva York cuando ella tenía dos años de edad. Debutó en la danza como primera bailarina afroamericana de la New Dance Group en 1943 y al año siguiente formó su propia compañía. Sus investigaciones antropológicas en África y el Caribe influyeron en la coreografía de obras como African Ceremonial (1944) y The Wedding (1961). Obtuvo un Ph. D. en la Universidad de Columbia.
